A rescue lifeboat is a boat rescue craft which is used to attend a vessel in distress, or its survivors, to rescue crew and passengers. It can be hand pulled, sail powered or powered by an engine. Fire-resistant Type Totally Enclosed Lifeboats are designed in accordance with 1996 amendments to SOLAS 1974 and LSA Code amendment by MSC.218(82) and MSC.81(70) amendment by MSC.226 (82) and MSC.272(85). The warranty period is normally limited to max. 18 months from delivery of equipment or 12 months from delivery of vessel to owner, whichever comes first.
