The IMO Ballast Water Treatment System features two stage process , IMO approved BWMS applying efficient automatic filtration to remove larger organisms and sediments followed by powerful medium pressure UV unit to disinfect and inactivate smaller plankton ,bacteria and pathogens ,in compliance with IMO D-2 standard.
The medium pressure UV device ,adopted by BWMS had significant advantage in marine application beside its physical nature in process .It calls for minimized footprint due to its compact design,which makes it easy to fit into any vessel especially those with limited space available .
