Universal Sorbent Socks Overview:
Universal sorbent socks can absorb oils, coolants, solvents and other petroleum-based fluids as well as water based fluids.
Socks are floating barriers used to contain and minimise the spread of oil on water. Enclosed in a strong outer netting for durability, hooks and rings are attached for linking together to form any required length.
Hooks are placed 30cm in from each end of the boom to form an overlap which acts as an extra barrier against oil escaping.
Application of Universal Sorbent Socks:
These cellulosic sorbent contained with a flexible polypropylene skin for the purpose of containing and absorbing oil solvents, water, and other non-aggressive liquids that leak or drip from any source. Absorbent socks are used primarily in everyday house-keeping around machineries that leak, seep, & spill coolants or oils. They fit snugly against the machine bases and wrap around corners, keeping the work area safe & dry.
Features of Universal Sorbent Socks:
Fabricated from virgin recycled materials. Absorbs more, is "green", yet cost about the same, or less, than traditional meltblown socks it replaces. Fast-wicking fibers are ideal for surrounding and absorbing oil and other hydrocarbon spills and discharges, preventing them from spreading. Flexibly fits snugly around the base of machinery and equipment exposed to water or rain to capture persistent oily leaks and seepage. It absorbs the oily substances but repels water. No messy cleanup - simply dispose the used socks and replace with fresh ones.
