Instruduction of Panama Towing Chocks
The Panama Chock is a heavy duty closed-hole mooring for ships to tow through the Panama Canal lock.
As the water level of the lock is quite different from that of the bank, and the cable is liable to slip and wear out under the force of ordinary mooring winches, such special mooring holes shall be provided in accordance with the requirements of the Panama Canal Rules.
Deck and bulwark bollards are available according to mounting position.
A mooring line is a device for changing the direction of the mooring line, limiting its exit position and reducing wear of the mooring line from inboard to outboard to a wharf or other mooring point.
